Sounds like my ex. Detroit may bid on '08 DNC Detroit is one of 11 cities to show interest in hosting the 2008 Democratic National Convention, party officials announced Monday. But that doesn't mean that the city had decided to officially join the chase. The Republican National Committee also has invited the city to bid for its 2008 convention. "We have expressed interest in receiving the bidding papers from the Democratic Party," Ceeon Quiett, spokeswoman for Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, said Monday.
