Just curious considering the mess with Pontiac's recent audit.

The mayor was just on the news complaining about the missing $60 odd millions that has little or no accountability. Any idea what might have happened there? A two-minute sound bite leaves a lot to the imagination...

I once had a job auditing budgets at a big corp that you would all recognize and has never really been accused of violating any financial regulations. I found ALL kinds of stuff that was not illegal, but certainly not valid business expenses and staffing levels that were not justified. I cannot imagine what you would find money spent on in any big city budget with all the paybacks, family members, etc

Does anyone know what happened a week or so ago with City Council's hiring of a new auditor general?
