This just in at Drudge...can't seem to find it on the Detroit news outlets except Channel 4's www.clickondetroit.com . Livonia SUV driver tries to off two pregnant women. He missed that point in the Good Book that says "in your anger do not sin". Let's hope the judge has a bigger book to throw at him. |

Old news. That story ran on local Phoenix TV yesterday. The 911 tape was quite panicky. It's really puzzling me why so many Detroit stories appear in Phoenix news lately. |

Just another example of how crazy people should not be given a license. They should do a psych evaluation at the DMV...LOL. |

We don't have the DMV here Cosmogrl. We have the Secretary of State. |

Jimaz - When it is a slow news day here in Detroit, we get footage of a ten car piles up in New York or a train derailment in Nigeria. When it is a slow news day in Phoenix, you can bet 100 bucks, you going to get a news clip of something stupid happening in Metro Detroit. |

Actually, a 50 year old Detroit man was the driver. Livonia women are o.k. http://www.hometownlife.com/ap ps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060 309/NEWS10/603090616/1027 |

Bibs, yeah, you may be right. Either that or I'm just more atuned right now to hearing Detroit mentioned (in anticipation of moving back there). No matter. It's all good. I have lately been trying to compare Detroit vs. Phoenix crime (as reported on various media released in Phoenix) and, FWIW, I have to agree that Detroit seems to be unfairly suffering from a typecasting problem. Some of the crimes in Phoenix are truly horrendous (home invasions, drug/gang vendetas, etc.) yet they never seem to break national news in the same way as even relatively minor Metro Detroit crimes. Detroit needs some PR work to correct its bad image to its good reality, IMHO. Jimaz -- reporting from a sociological wasteland. |

In fairness, Gannon's Drudge link was datelined LIVONIA, Mich. Apparently the driver was instead from Detroit. "They were fortunate to be traveling in a larger vehicle," Winn said. |
