Technically, this is true. It's called "soft" money, and it's a way for people to get around those pesky campaign finance laws that set limits on how much money you can directly donate to a candidate, that's why they give to a PAC. While it's feesible that Kwame didn't know what the PAC was doing, I think you'd be hardpressed to find ANY politician who is "innocent" and "in the dark" when it comes to the dealing of their Political Action Committees. They are "supposed" to be seperate entities, but in reality they are just middlemen for the campaign coffers of the politician they support and are closely controlled by the campaign staff and close associates of the candidate. | ||
