State investigators gave Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick until Tuesday to answer their questions.
The State of Michigan's campaign-finance regulators want to know who donated about $46,000 in mystery money to Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick's political action committee last year when Kilpatrick was in a tight race for re-election.

Why am I not surprised.

Who wants to bet that given the lax election laws in Michigan that absolutely nothing will ever come of it?

Oh puuulease, don't get me started. I surely expected evil to befall us after the election, but just not this quick.

ILD, don't be absurd. You know all of my illegal donations go directly to Kwame Kenyatta. I just love a man in a "say something hat."

While not a fan how is this KKs fault. PACs are entities of their own if I am not mistaken. The PACs donate the money to the political candidates and are responsible for their own accounting.

Correct?

You are correct. The media wants to make it look like it is Kipatrick's fault - that is their typical way of doing business by making him look bad. They are really pissed off - their man lost and they hate looking wrong!

Technically, this is true. It's called "soft" money, and it's a way for people to get around those pesky campaign finance laws that set limits on how much money you can directly donate to a candidate, that's why they give to a PAC. While it's feesible that Kwame didn't know what the PAC was doing, I think you'd be hardpressed to find ANY politician who is "innocent" and "in the dark" when it comes to the dealing of their Political Action Committees. They are "supposed" to be seperate entities, but in reality they are just middlemen for the campaign coffers of the politician they support and are closely controlled by the campaign staff and close associates of the candidate.

"Ilovedetroit" once again you should be the last person talking about someone else trying to "figure out who/what 'he' is".
