Mad-Donna has decided to skip her hometown for her upcoming tour. If it's one person I can not stand it is Mad-Donna she is constantly dogging this place in the media and never gives props to her hometown. I say next time she comes we boo her ass right back out!

She's a washed up has-been anyways. I loved her era where she ditched the US altogether, and moved to Britain, and even tried to start having a British accent.

Who ever thought she had a shred of talent? She denies being from Detroit too, the hell with her and her bulging biceps. Like that would help her sing in tune.

I don't understand why people give her so much shit for doing what she wants with her life. IMO she can do or study whatever she wants.

However, I have never even heard her mention her connections to Detroit, as far as I'm concerned she's dead to us :-)

I can't wait to see her when she's a plastic blow up doll of botox. She's gonna top Joan Rivers for fear of aging gracefully.

yeah she hasn't given anything back to where she came.

She mentioned she was from Detroit on TRL last fall when she released her single "Hung Up." And in a proud way, not like "oh yeah, I was from there."

Now I will say that if I lived 30 of my 48 years away from an area, I'd probably not be the biggest booster for it.

In all seriousness, I would expect they will add a few dates to the tour and Detroit will probably be among them. She has NEVER skipped Detroit on a US tour.

I agree with you Hipster. I saw her when she was in town a few years ago and she was very grateful to her hometown and thanked Detroit for getting her off to a good start. It is all about money on tours and I bet she adds a Detroit let. In the meantime I am planning on going to Chicago to see her!

It actually makes you wonder if skipping Detroit is a business decision. Maybe the crappy economy has hit the Metro Detroit concert scene and made it so people don't want to pay overpriced concert tickets, instead opting for much more appropriately priced local groups.

She'll probably make her way to Detroit eventually. You might recall that the White Stripes' "Get Behind Me Satan" Detroit dates were announced after they had already started touring the US.

Yeah... like Dial said, she talked up Detroit on TRL last fall. But Dial, you're wrong about her never skipping Detroit. She skipped Detroit on her 2004 Reinvention Tour. She hasn't been here since 2001. I had to go see her in Chicago. And now I'm off to Chicago again this year.

She will not be playing Detroit. It's all about money on this tour. She is using the same promoter (Michael Cohl) as the Stones and U2 who is notorious in the business for being a total asshole. Since rolling out the Drowned World Tour in 2001 she has been on the road quite a bit and skeptics wonder if she can command $350 a ticket in say...a market like Fresno?? It will be interesting to see how it goes. In most cities several hundred seats will be auctioned off to the highest bidder through TM. Cross your fingers though...Michael Cohl has bombed before. Case in point would be the Diana Ross and the fake Supremes tour where he paid her 30 million for 8 shows after the tour was cancelled due to poor ticket sales ($250 a pop). You wanna see high ticket prices? Cohl is in the works with Streisand for a tour this fall, watch out!!!!

I have wished they would stop saying she is from Detroit, when actually she is from Michigan. She doesn't deserve the label Detroiter at all!!

A few years ago when 8 Mile came out and Detroit was getting a lot of press, she made a comment about herself being "from Detroit before it was cool to be from Detroit." It was kind of annoying because she had dissed Detroit AND Michigan for years, then suddenly seemed to want to jump on the bandwagon. She also made an appearance on "Will and Grace" and tried to pimp the Detroit/8 Mile thing.

Please reread Toolbox's comment above. She is from Bay City and Rochester, not Detroit. I hung out some at Menjo's in the late 70s, but that does not make me from Detroit (I'm also a Tri City native, as is Stevie Wonder). How come with all the anti-suburban attitudes on this forum, Rochester has become part of Detroit?

Missnmich,

Gotta keep it real, bro'. You should have asked:

Why come wit' all the anti-suburban attitudes and stuff on this here forum, Rochester is now become a part of Detroit?

LOL...just having a little fun today.
