From this morning's Freep: TasteFest lures some big names Over the past few years, the annual Comerica Taste-Fest has positioned itself as one of the most-anticipated music events of the summer. If the just-announced headliners are any indication, the 2006 version looks to be no exception. Several top acts will grace the main stage at the free festival, held annually in Detroit's New Center over the Fourth of July period. On the bill: Socially conscious Chicago rapper Common. British blues rockers Eric Burdon and the Animals. Kinks leader Ray Davies, who just released his first official solo album. Southern hard rockers Kings of Leon. Canadian critical favorites the New Pornographers. Hip New York dance rockers the Bravery. Performance times are still to be announced, along with the rest of the lineup, which will likely total about 60 acts. TasteFest runs June 30-July 4 and will also feature food from top area restaurants, family activities and a marketplace. Let's keep it real!! compared to tiny pontiac's Arts Beats & Eats and Chicagos tastefest Detroit's Taste Fest is a JOKE with capital letters. This years line up is crap (imo) the mayor needs to re-locate and expand the venue!!!! | ||
