Saunders took Ben out of the game 7 minutes before the end of the game and then when Flip told him to go back in..Ben wouldn't go back in. When he pulled him out of the game, Ben started cursing Flip! when the coach ordered been to go back in...he just sat there, So coach put Maxiel in.

I was surprised when I read it. Never in a million years would I have guessed that Ben would join the "I refuse to go into the game" club. Club members are such selfish players as Steve Francis and Carmelo Anthony during his rookie season.

In an odd way I think this will help the Pistons. I think Ben will play his best basketball from here on out (22 rebounds today) as he's going to get a lot of criticism in the press, as he should.

It's just odd that the Pistons have basically defined the word team and teamwork over the last few years and the player who most exemplifies that does the most anti-team thing you can do - quitting on the team.

Last time Ben had a little tussle like this, he spurred the Pistons onto bigger & badder things. I think part of it is with his own frustration of not being able to drain a free throw when his team needs it. I'm sure things will be settled soon enough and the machine will be humming along soon.

This kind of stuff happens. Im sure the other NBA teams and the media are eating it up as the "end" of the pistons. This stuff happens in all kinds of situations, and while it was lame of Ben not to go back in, It should spark the team for the playoffs. IF they play like they really want it , i can see them steamrolling the east.

Like the NBA is only sport where players have issues with their coaches. I never understood why so many people have problems with the NBA

So, if your mad about getting pulled you refuse to go back in? I thought he wanted more P.T.?

That is a total bitch move. For all the "going to work" B.S. the Pistons put out there I'd like to see anyone try this at a real job in Detroit in 2006 and see where it gets them. It won't get them more work.

Justy another spoiled jock sulking. Aside from their public image we really don't know these guys.

Just do what your F'ing boss tells you to do.

Joe D. should fine the hell out of him. If he was on the Bad Boys teams he would have gotten his ass whupped.

Yes, Ben has joined the Pippen club.

Ben's human. He's allowed to flip out on Flip and I'd like to think they patched things up by now. Besides look at his performance against Indiana- is that a sulking superstar who's crying poor me? He pulled down 22 boards and got back to work.

"Like the NBA is only sport where players have issues with their coaches. I never understood why so many people have problems with the NBA."

It's because the NBA is the only major sport where the players see themselves as bigger than their coaches/managers. If you got most NBA players to be honest about it, most of them would admit that they believe that coaches are superfluous. There isn't that much respect there.
