Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick will present his city's budget proposal to the city council. His proposal would cut more city services to save $38 million dollars, gained over $220 Million dollars in pensions. How do this proposal would save the city from recievership? How it would effect the city's image for the 21st Century? |

The old adage, "You can pay me now or you can pay me later" really applies here. The problem is, even with the cuts, they will still have to borrow more money to stave off the deficits. So, we'll be paying now and later for lack of leadership and honesty these past few years. |

Yeah that leadership and honesty under ARCHER. The guy he took the city employee rolls over 20,000 and before he left office made it a rule (for his appointees) that they were vested after 8 years in the city pension fund versus the old 10 year rule. Thanks Archer! |
