Went to the Detroit Zoo today and it was jammed. I have never seen it so crowded. I think we were in line almost 30 minutes to get in. It was great to see people supporting the zoo.

It's that first warm weekend of the year and Easter break for the kidlets! I'm sure it was great mayhem for all.

I was also there this afternoon, and it was wonderful to see it so packed. My family came in from Lansing to come here and loved it. It could be the fact it was the first really nice warm weekend of the year, or it could be people wanting to show their support by attending. Now we just need to get the same level of support coming to Dossin Great Lakes Museum and the Detroit Historical Museum.

Another part of it was the Easter activities they had and the promotion where you got in for less money if you brought a food donation for Gleaners.

Pam, are you suggesting that the crowd wasn't there just because they love love love the zoo, but perhaps because they could save a few bucks?

I think you're post counts as a bucket of cold water tossed upon someone's over eager head.

I think they love both the zoo and saving money. :-) (Personally I paid full price.)
