To Jack White: "Fuck You."

Put him in the same category as Madonna. I wonder what Meg thinks of that.

Makes me sad because I am a die hard Stripes fan and was always proud they were from here, however Jack has been slighted by just about everyone from the garage scene so I can't fully blame him for being bitter.

Yeah, I would interpret it more as not missing the music scene here, not so much the city itself.

You know..didn't Jack beat the crap out of Jason Von Bondie for saying almost the very same things? Seems like Jack is a little short sighted these days. When they play Detroit..I mean IF they play Detroit.. I hope noone shows up! And I'm a HUGE WS and BB fan! Thanks for sticking up for Detroit, Jack..ass!

Sure, hate someone because they moved out of the city. I didn't realize that it was his job to stick up for the city. Like his music or don't like it but don't call yourself a fan and hate on him because his primary residence is no longer in Detroit. Yep, real classy.

I really wouldn't be surprised if White and Benson were secret lovers.

I'll second the douchebag comment.

What is there to miss about Detroit? Name one thing Jack White should miss.

White Stripes ripped off The Gories sound and style. Maybe all he should miss is the bands he can steal from.

It's amazing to me how thin-skinned a lot of people are about this. Jesus. If he had moved away from Livonia and said he didn't miss it, y'all would be applauding and agreeing. It's not Jack White's job to defend Detroit. If he doesn't miss it, he doesn't miss it. And who are we to assume the reasons why he doesn't?

Get a grip, people.

It's probably due largely to not only being slighted by former friends, but now getting sued by Jim Diamond. I'd probably feel the same way.

Yeah I'm sure it's exactly that Gdub. People around here are haters and don't realize that if it wasn't for the Stripes making it big, the younger bands from town would never have gotten as big as they are.I'm sorry to say but for some reason people around here hate on the Stripes for reasons unknown, which is really sad for all that he as a musician has done for this town.

I just don't like the music he makes *shrugs*

if he finds nashville to be such wonderful place he is more than welcome to stay there....on the condition that he takes all the other hillbilly-in-the-city music that he inspired with his work with loretta lynn with him.

Or, rather than being so arrogant to assume his musical talent and variety would have been recognized and fostered away from Detroit, JW could at the very least show some appreciation for the city where he found his niche.

All he said was he didn't miss Detroit, didn't really say why, if anything it could be the weather.

I think the thousands of middle class leaving the city are a bigger concern than Jack White leaving the city.

I would happily keep 50 extra middle class families than one Jack White. Not a knock on Jack just a fact that we need to address reasons why families are leaving, not superstar musicians.

Crime, bums, dirty, bad weather, home values going down, lack of police, high taxes, lack of diversity. Any of these could be a reason why someone might leave the city and say they don't miss it. Just a thought....
