Speaking of filming at the MCS, here's the newly-released trailer for Crossover: http://www.sonypictures.com/mo vies/crossover/ I'm in there as an extra, playing a spectator behind Wayne Brady (visible for a second about midway through). The film comes out late August. |

Awesome! Despite the skeptics (including me) the MCS appears to have a modern-day use after all. Kinda like a classic '49 Cadillac that has been dropped, hydrauliced, louvered, tinted, metal flaked and has a set of 20 inch rims. Oh, and don't forget the bass wedges in the trunk! Yeah, baby; the Michigan Central with a gangsta touch of lo-rider! |

Actually, Wayne Brady was hilarious, he was friendly, joking around with the crew and extras. Eva Pigford, on the other hand (America's Next Top Model #2, yeah whatever bitch) was a foul-mouthed diva--like so many newly-minted "celebrities." I had to stare at the back of her head for hours, with all its yucky cowlicks and bleached neck hairs. The director Preston Whitmore (from Detrroit--imdb the dude, he did Fled and other stuff) was cool, but stressed. Anyway, it was a great chance to check out the inside of MCS, and get some free food. Plus a few bucks that took two months to get mailed out. Check out the movie, y'all! |

Hey, how about this idea for the MCS - new studio space for the movie industry. With the high ceilings on the ground floor and high ceilings on the office floors above, it would work great for editing, special effects, etc. You could film on site, run up stairs and check your shots and then run back down if you want something a little different. We could offer NEZ breaks and a whole bunch of other stuff to compete with our neighbors to the south who give tax breaks up the wazoo to the movie industry. |

Looks like a good flick; I'd go check it out. Detroit's starting to pull in some more movies, huh? This one doesn't look to cast such a negative image as the other ones. |

I don't think it's supposed to be set in Detroit though. |
