I am planning a trip to Canada that will have me crossing from the U.S. via the Ambassador bridge on the morning of September 11th, 2006.

My question is if I should expect extra heavy security and traffic back-ups based on previous 9/11's or if they are generally smooth and just like any other weekday mornings.

I might change the days or crossing point if anyone suggests to expect heavy back-ups and big delays. (Don't worry Homeland Security Monitors, just a question of timing!)

I wouldn't expect it to be anymore than usual since September 11th, 2001.

Everything is back to normal.

It was by Sept. 11, 2002.

I wouldn't call it "back to normal," because for American's it will never be that way, but it's not exactly like it's 9/11/2001, still, either. September has subsided, here, but it's not gone.

I think that you should also keep in mind what is going on geopolitical-wise in the days leading up to Sept 11.

If we go off and tick off the islamofacists by nuking Iran or something else as inane as that, there's a good chance that the security just might be stepped up a bit.

If you see an angry old senial old man, its probably the owner Matty. I would avoid him. He may try to employ you for long hours at a low pay rate and in unsafe conditions. I would also avoid the restrooms at the Ammex stores on the Detroit side. They are usually a little on the frightening side. Especially around September
