Please help us spread the word! Bicycling Magazine’s BikeTown USA project has selected Detroit for 2006 along with 11 other cities. What is BikeTown? This program will provide 50 free Giant Bicycles in Metro Detroit. Those wanting to get a free bike must submit an entry on-line that includes an essay in 50 words or less that explains “how you would use a BikeTown bike to change your life.” Entries are now being accepted on-line at http://www.bicycling.com/biket own2006/ Winners of the free bikes will be followed for three months and their stories will be incorporated into Bicycling Magazine. D&D Bicycles in Westland is the host bicycle shop. Details are still being worked out regarding the when and where the bikes will be delivered to the winners. Lipton is presenting BikeTown and they will be promoting it at the Trenton Mid-Summer Fest, which runs from July 7-9th. There are more details on-line at http://www.liptonlivewellchall enge.com though I believe their posted date for Detroit is incorrect. |

Me too. I could use a new one, but then I'd be afraid it would get stolen or vandalized. I love riding around Detroit on bike, especially downtown and Belle Isle! |
