The DETROIT CONCERT CHOIR will perform ‘A BON VOYAGE’ concert at Saint Ambrose Church on Saturday, June 24 at 7:30pm. Come join the choir as they prepare to travel to LLANGOLLEN, WALES, to participate in the LLANGOLLEN INTERNATIONAL EISTEDDFOD. This ‘festival of song’ in Wales will include choirs from all over the world. Ticket prices for this concert will be $10.00 and the proceeds will benefit the work of the Saint Vincent DePaul Society at Saint Ambrose. Tickets can be purchased from the church office, after Sunday Masses and at the door. After the concert, all are welcome to join with the choir in a Bon Voyage celebration in the Ark at Saint Ambrose. |

...heard a couple of their shows in the past. They tend to choose some nice venues, but I've never been to a show at St. Ambrose. They are definitly talented enough to compete on the international stage. |

Its a beautiful Church with good acoustics. It should be a good show-. For those that aren't aware, when your dollars go to SaintVincent de Paul as the admission costs for this does.... there are 0 (that's zero) administrative costs. Every penny goes to helping those that need a hand in Detroit. |

Usually the left front side (facing the altar). I always get good clear sound from the choir. You disagree Mikem? |

I sit left front too, but I do the 8:15, so no choir. Maybe the problem was Fr Farrell's beard on top of his microphone? |

Careful, he knows what we are saying now! Yeah, I think sound system from the altar is not the best and Father Farrell was mumbling a bit towards the end. The un-miked choir comes across very well at 11:15. Its worth stopping in if you can wait that late into a Sunday....and handle all the kid traffic. |

I should as I don't like getting up early, however my wife is usually serving at the early mass. Fr Farrell was a close family friend; not only did he baptize me, marry me, and bury my father, but my middle name is Edward too, so I'm sure he knows we're talking about him. Thankfully he has a good Irish sense of humor although you'd never know it from his homilies. Thanks for the notice. |

Good story Mikem. I liked Father Farrell. I'm in that same area at 8:15 when we go early. My kids do altar service now and again. I'll look for you at Mass. |

Sounds good. Oh, I should have said 8:30, not 8:15...every minute of sleep counts. |
