This show is a much before my time, but a modern version is being made.

quote:

In the film, the concept will be updated for contemporary times. Daily Varity said it’s possible the setting would be Detroit, but that details have yet to be finalized. It will not be a musical movie, but Eminem (Marshall Mathers) will likely be involved in the soundtrack or score.

Reading the title of this and not knowing "Have a Gun - Will travel" was a movie. I thought I would see a link to some travel magazine that suggested bringing a gun if you are traveling to Detroit or you could be shot.

Eminem to star in movie update of 50s TV western

Santiago Esparza / The Detroit News

Look who's back; back again.

Eminem is set to star in an updated version of the TV series "Have Gun -- Will Travel," according to an article posted Monday on Variety.com.

The movie could be filmed in Detroit, but nothing has been confirmed, the Variety article stated. Eminem could play a bounty hunter in the film, which will be based on the 1957 TV Western of the same name.

In the show, Richard Boone played Paladin, a gunfighter with a good heart and an eye for money.

Eminem last starred in "8 Mile," a movie loosely based on his life story. The new movie would be produced by Interscope/Shady/Aftermath Films.

If the movie is made, Eminem would join the ranks of other rappers who hit the big screen in multiple movies, such as LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, DMX and Snoop Dogg.
