I'm just a girl with a little point and shoot digital - but I do love taking photos.

Here are some I took at during Super Bowl in 2006. I work at RenCen, so I was there in the heart of the fun all week!

Hey - Southern, I love your stuff!!! Would you grant permission for me to print one off in a large format for my home? I love the orb in the hand photo - absolutely stunning!! No intention of selling or anything, just for my own home.

You better watermark all those images if that's your intention. It's all ripe for the taking as it is. Not everyone will be as nice as Lizaanne. That copyright at the bottom can be easily removed.

Sturge:
Im currently going through the process of limiting the size of the image that is viewable to the public. That way if someone was to rip it off, they couldnt print or make a profit from the photo.

Todays shot - The interior of the DIA right before being closed for renovation.

Several weeks ago, while at the Scott Memorial Fountain, I spoke with the man who runs it, Jerome, I believe is his name. He told me that the cascades leading down to the lagoon were not operational; but that the fountain itself was fine. He hoped it would all be repaired by the time of the race. He also was kind enough to give us a tour of the underground pump room.

Hey, Pythonmaster. Love those shots of Detroit!(see Detroit Quick Pics). I don't post mine here because I don't fall into "people who take quality shots of the city". So I post them as an aside to threads such as this one. Keep up the good work.

Southen, i love your photos. Do you ever do any limited runs? or just sell prints? Anyway, here's some of my fun pics of late. the first is the awesome landscaping they've done on an island on Jefferson. The second is just kinda funny/sad. enjoy! Oh! i might as well ask. A non-profit i know is looking to print business cards, and i suggested using local artists for a limited run of 1,000 business cards to make them more unique. Each one would be numbered and list the artists information. Good advertising for the artist, while contributing to a good cause. Let me know if you're interested. Cheers!

No on lined up as of yet. Probably just kinko's or something. The group doesn't have any real money though and they try to tap into friends of friends and such, soooo, if you know anyone that could do some printing for them....

Awesome Johnlodge!
I'll give you a shout Monday when i get to work. I know the group is growing and trying to get more people involved that are committed to making a difference in the City. There are a lot of good groups out there all doing there part. Monday night at the Penobscot Cityscape is having a guest speaker on phtyoremediation. It's on the 13th floor and starts about 6:30 for anyone interested. It's kind of a lead-in to next month's brownfield event in which they will have a nationally recognized authority moderating a panel of local planners and developers. Should be very informative for those of us that don't quite understand the legal and political hurdles of redeveloping 'tainted' sites.
As the group grows, i think they hope to feature a different artist every couple months or so on their business cards as a limited edition, so the actual card becomes something of value while helping to promote the local talent. If there is enough interest, the runs might be limited to 500 or so in order to feature more people. I'll have to talk to the group, but i would think that it only works if the artist is actively producing art for sale. Though i like the idea of having creative individuals submit artwork, i think it would be more beneficial to both the group and artist to use the cards as a form of marketing. I'm not sure how successful a marketing campaign works without a product. Talk to you Monday. cheers!
