The only thing I need for the garden now is free topsoil or a place thats cheap and not too far to go pick up from.

It was a good time, I'd guess there were thirty people there, maybe forty...from young children to near-seniors.

You could feel the energy and love in that space just walking onto the ground.

We couldn't stay until the second half, but probably should've...that party we left for was lame.

Great to see this develop, Cub. Big fun.

Cannot wait for that Greening Picnic.

I drove by there today, looks great! Nice job, Cub, and Django's rocks look cool too. I think I might have seen Mayor Cub, with his floppy hat next door. They were probably wondering who the kid was in the yellow Mustang, LOL!

Blueidone, just wanted to thank you for the help again. I now have new watering system working instead of me haulin buckets. Corn is doing great, sunflowrs also. Lost my melons when I transplanted them outside but the maters and peppers seem to be doing okay. Oh yeah, the cucs are growing the best I think. Cant wait to see some fruit. That $$ was a big help.

Still have to get over to Cubs to finish the rocks.

Question.

My garden is totally infested with pricker bush. Anyone have any ideas on how to deal with them? I uproot them as much as possible but they are everywhere. I grew up in a farming family with all veggies grown with some kind of pesticides, Im not opposed to them as say a total treehugger may be. Ive got a kid, hes got 2 eyes 10 toes and 9 fingers like all of us. Any ideas would help. Im sick of uprooting these pesky weeds. Im hoping that by digging up as many as possible, MY plants will outgrow them, use up the sunlight and water and the pricks will die off but Im not sure. I know Ive got a green thumb in me somewhere but I need some help finding it.

I went to our neighborhood association meeting today and guess what? They finally realized they had more compost then they needed for their garden. I was told told come and get as much as I needed. The catch is they need it gone by Saturday. The day of thier annual picnic that I heard about for the first time today. So I will finally have the beds ready for the kids. I will be going to get a load or two everyday till Friday. Now I just need to get some plants cause I think it is to late for seeds.
