Amru Meah was one of the 16 appointees who received a last minute double-digit raise from Kilpatrick before he left office. The Detroit News story which listed the 16 names is no longer available online for free, but a google search provides the following:

I wonder if Christine Beatty was interviewing with Birmingham's mayor when she asked the court earlier for permission to travel to Alabama to look for employment. Maybe she heard that he ran the city Kwame-style and she knew she'd fit right in. |
