Did KK drop out of the race? Zulu took care of the polling service a month or so ago. Perhaps he will revive it? https://www.atdetroit.net/forum/mes sages/36206/37095.html |

100% McPhail AND I'm 100% awesome. I had no preconceived notion about Hendrix before last summer. In fact I really wasn't thinking too much about the race then. But when I heard about Freman running around the suburbs having house parties...it irked me for some reason. Why not begin with people who can actually vote for you? So I started to look at the two kwame alternates then. I can't see Freman being a good mayor. He is not inspiring, and although has 589,000 words posted on his website about what he's going to do, I'm still not clear on anything. It seems to me to be disingenuous for him to cut and paste alot of other cites ideas... Plus I have a family member that worked with him in the private sector (I didn't even realize she worked with him) who told me about his ugly demeanor and lack of leadership. This of course is very speculative for you, the reader, but nontheless if helped me make up my ming about Freman. Since then I've been to several Sharon and Benny events and have come to know and love them. They have great ideas and will move this city forward! To the reader: No I have never met Freman so how can I count him out? Well..yes it's true I didn't give him another chance after boarding the power of 2 train and maybe that's wrong...but the fact is I just don't like him. I will, despite what following posts say, give him credit when he has a good idea about something, but will never switch my vote. Elect the Power of 2 in 2005! |

McPhail or Hendrix? Hmmm...I thought there was a third choice...this guy...what's his name...kind of a big fellow...oh yeah THE FUCKING MAYOR! Really enjoying how the Sharon hacks continue to attack Hendrix and at the same time demonstrate their own fear of him as a candidate. You know what I take back all my Sharon's hacks comments. McPhail strikes me as far to competant and saavy to hire you losers. ...don't blame me I'm voting for a LaMar Lemmons! |

Don't support that evil witch with her black cat. If you did then she will turn Detroit into a privatized corporation with more gentfication, slum clearance of once black Detroit communities and she will bully the whole city council until they drop. Believe me she is more suppotive to the suburbs rather focusing the on the principles in Detroit business. Remember vote according to your principles not by race and popularity statues because most politicians LIE to get into office. (Message edited by danny on March 18, 2005) |

Quinn, where did you want Hendrix to go for his campaign money? Kwame already has all the big money supporters in Detroit. What percentage of the population is really willing to give $1000, or even $100, to a candidate? Kwame is still very much in the game because Kwame has the biggest war chest. |

All i asked for was who the people on this forum were going to vote for in the primary. I left out KK becuz i thought everyone knows he will be in the race at the end against Sharon or Freman. SO- Not 1 vote for KK? Interesting.... |

Interesting how you attempt to frame the debate asking people for preference between McPhail and Hendrix then claim no one is supporting Kilpatrick. You never asked about Kilpatrick. You are new here so I'm going to refrain from expressing my initial opinions of you and provide the toned down version. I think you are dumber then a sack of hammers. Intentionally ask a question so that it excludes a possible answer and then mention that no one chose the excluded choice? Come on, what kind of chicken shit game is that. And no one knows Kilpatrick "will be in the race at the end against" McPhail or Hendrix since the primary hasn't even taken place yet. As Lowell points out nothing is for sure in this race. Don't assume things, then use those assumptions to ask slanted questions in the hope that the slanted answers provide evidence to back up your assumptions. ...don't blame me I'm voting for a LaMar Lemmons! (not sure which one though) |

Freman cannot do anything for this city. Why? Because what did he do when he was here before? Nothing? Other than screw up the school board and make lots of suburban friends. |

As they say, when life gives you Lemmons make Future Politicians! I'm with ya Jelk on this one. Any poll without the Kilpatrick isn't a good snapshot and more than hypothetical. We need to not only get everyone filed (BTW... heard Sharon hasn't filed her petitions yet, so applying some peoples' logic she still might not run) but get through a dog-eat-dog primary to get to two candidates (which the campaign has, in fact, already started with Sharon sending most of the first volleys and doing a good job at this point of framing the debate). |

Wow, the McPhailites are really scared of Hendrix. They take every chance they can get to tear him down. I'd even say they spew more venom at Hendrix than they do at Kilpatrick. Hell, even when I've listened to McPhail lately she goes out of her way to take point-blank shots at Hendrix. It's sad really. Just sad. It makes her campaign look desperate. |

Helfy- I was new about two months ago and I have been told to do things that I only thought happened in porn videos produced in Thailand! Welcome to the club! In some defense of Helfy it should be noted that Kwame has not even announced he is running so a poll of Hendrix/McPhail seems appropriate. Although I am sure Kwame will run! He has too much money that he hasn't stolen yet that he is affraid Freman and his wife will get for themselves! |

McPhail up by 3 votes Hendrix - one Kwame - 0 Anyone but McPhail - 2 For those who think we McPhailites are affraid of Freman - fat chance! We just don't like him. He is the most dishonest one of the bunch. At least KK wears his dishonesty on his sleeve. Freman hides behind this veil of "I am so sweet" ... "I licked Archer's butt for four years so I deserve to mayor crap". I was at an event a few months ago for TRU...and he was so rude to me when he heard I was on the McPhail team. There was NO reason for that. He might need my vote one day. I was nothing but nice to him. And he went into that deep seeded anger that he has. IF you really know him you won't like him. IF you really got to know Sharon you would love her. She is truly the most honest person I know. I think that is why she is perceived as making mistakes with the meida...she is honest! |

That's some fuzzy math. There are two votes for ABM, which cancels out two McPhail votes. So, you essentially have one vote for McPhail and one vote for Hendrix. Or, since the original poster limited this extremely scientific survey to two choices, the ABM votes would by default go to Hendrix, so he would be up 3 to 1. No matter how you read the data, it has be 4 votes and a lot of hot air after 35 posts. Just like real life politics. |

Good point, Quinn, and thank you for demanding that recount. The count now stands at: 1 vote for McPhail 1 vote for Hendrix 1 vote for Awesomeness 0 votes for Pedro I admit I have added to the hot air on this thread, but pot, meet kettle. Go back and re-read your posts on this thread, and let me know how much they added to the discussion. Let's see, first you posted to yourself twice to get your count up to 100, and then you had the Hendrix picture re-tread, then you quoted Napolean Dynamite. |

At first I thought the repetitive reference to Hendrix as "Helmut" was a sort of schoolyard taunt, calling someone by their given but personally disliked name. Now I think it's codespeak that seeks to remind everyone that Hendrix has some European (German) in him. Ruined by his European genes, he lacks the "blackness" necessary to be a proper choice for Detroit and is destined to be a tool of white suburban interests. |

Wow you are really smart Track. I think it is actually more of a funny name thing. If we want to make fun of someone's name we can tease Sharon McPhail about McFAIL. And Kwame well with initials like KK that is pretty close to being REALLY bad. The worst is the old mayor of Ft Wayne, IN his name was Harold Balls - they called him Harry. |

TRack75, you just summed up KK's campaign. Both this time and his first win against Gil. lurker, learn how voting works, majority rules. So if you don't vote for a person, your vote doesn't count. Sort of like voting for Nader. I saw one of them pictures in a store front window today on Livernois. It was fuzzy because they blew it up and printed it on regular paper. But it was still funny. |

Gee, Danny the way you paint the picture McPhail seems better for Detroit than other mayor's have been... Well.. Why would i say that.. The city needs the suburbs as much as the suburbs need the city... Stupid... Sorry to bash you Danny but this city needs both WORLDS to succeed!!! If she is for working with the suburbs then I am all for her... But to be honest her racist past rubs me wrong... Who would I vote for mayor, well to be honest KK has done an OK job, but I think the city needs a change in both mayor AND the City council... In my opinion the city council is probably more critical in bring the city back than a mayor... They have stopped anything any mayor have tried to push... They need to get on the bus or leave... Therefore I vote Hendrix... Leads to me to another topic why the FUC* does the FORMER dead city council women still have a staff????? WTF is that about.. You want to save the city money reduce all city council members to 4 or so members not 12... That will save the city money... It's only a city of what 900K now?? So why does each city council member need 12 or more helpers?? Do you damn job... I can understand having 5 people helping you out.. but 12 come on!!! If this kinda of stupid SHI* continues then we will be in the same boat as 20 years ago... Wise up... |
