If this is what it came down to, who would you vote for? I am very much liking the idea of Benny running on his own.

Quinn:

In your weekly campaign report update, you can tell your leaders how you learned of yet, another non-Sharon voter! But at least you told her off.

Weekly campaign report update? Quinn and the other McPhailites put up a new propaganda/atack thread every day it seems. And the thing is I like some of the campaign promises McPhail is making. Its her campaign that's driving me away from her.

Morena, I'm glad to see I have another convert to the Team Lemmonses! Welcome. LaMar Lemmons, LaMar Lemmons, and LeMar Lemmons are all so great. Pretty much anyone who has ever met them comes away impressed. The fact that the McPhail Brownshirts refuse to acknowlege them is just a testiment to their popularity. They can't risk reminding voters how much better a Mayor a Lamar Lemmons would be than McPhail.

Candidates aren't candidates and can't run as other than a write-in without nominating petitions. Filing deadline is in May. Presumably Sharon's nominating petitions are being circulated and presumably she'll have enough signatures to get on the ballot. Sharon continues to lean on Benny and needs his supporters for her poll numbers and her bid for mayor. Benny still clings to her skirt and has no announced aspirations to do anything but be Sharon's bucket of warm spit/appointee. Benny's name won't be on the ballot.

HAHAHA this is a worthless string. McPhail and Napoleon are not going anywhere! They had a campaign meeting the other night (of course I was there cuz I am everywhere right?) - and they laughed about the rumors AND congrats to Detroityes...this forum was mentioned under Waldmeiers column as one of the sources of the rumored split! Hey Detroiyes was mentioned in front of 300 people...good job! But hey rumors are fun....sometimes.

The candidates could really learn a thing or two from Rex Kwan Do. They use the buddy system. No more flying solo. You need somebody watching your back at all times. Second off, they'll learn to discipline their image. You think Rex got where he is today because he dressed like Peter Pan?

Freman Hendrix's supporters have been circulating petitions for months. More likely that the "6 signatures from a meeting that had about 50 folk in attendance, yesterday" were the only registered voters in the room who hadn't signed a petition yet.

Glad I am Detroiter and can vote?

"Ilovedetroit", or maybe Hendrix supporters are ALL smart enough to know that you can only sign a petition once (per office).

Maybe McPhail supporters think they can sign twice, given the "power of two"?

Maybe 25% signed...Maybe 60%...Maybe they signed at first then changed their minds...Maybe they never signed...Back to maybe the signed at first then changed their minds

Maybe everyone on this forum with common sense knows that anything Rasputin claims is probably completely untrue.

No spin, BD ... kinda amuzing that you would take that tack .... however, it demonstrated to me just what ILD & Brian have been saying all along. And btw: every person in the room was/is a REGISTERED VOTER and had voted in the last 5 mayoral elections!! Now, sit on your middle finger & spin on that!! The dude just doesn't have the juice, as I listened to nothing but "pie in the sky" ideology.

Really funny when a voter asked him why he didn't do those things when he was in office with Archer. Fre had the audacity to get mad and try to overtalk the person, which happened to be a senior citizen. It didn't go over too well!! judging by the discussions after he left. Prolly why he didn't get many signatures too!!

Guess what .....???? There were NO white folk with his group!! When asked about that, Fre turned "beet red" and his jaws were tight as a drum-skin, as he gritted his teeth (a bad habit for a public person under pressure)!! He didn't even respond to the statement & subsequent question. He just went on to some nebulous plan for youth jobs, totally ignoring the voting senior citizen!! ..... more discussion about that after he left too; and it wasn't very positive.

All-in-all, the group decided that he wasn't too impressive; with his arrogant, overbearing attitude and "pie-in-the-sky" plans being his greatest drawbacks. (Need there be any more?? Like ... BD & MDWhatever? LOL)

The highlight was Ms. Polly traveling with him.

Black-atcha .... watching the REAL become more REAL day by day. Go figure ..... on a bleeding campaign.

So what you are saying is they are so old they might not make it to the next election. NOTE TO SELF: Have the Power of Three take a pass on this group of milkshakes.

Rasputin, that is the same thing happening all over the city. Folks will listen to Helmut but they either don't like what he said, don't like his answers or just don't like his attitude.

I Helmut was serious and had the ability to get elected, he should have all his required signatures already. At this point, if you don't have the signatures you are treading water.
