I'm hoping and praying that he'll saying something concrete and positive about the B-C, MCS and M-L. However, I have a sneeky suspicison that tonight's speech will be a lot like last years: all sizzle with no steak.

Crime is at an all time low! YA! ALL RIGHT! right?

Ok here's a guess at the end:

"And having said all this great crap about what I've done, it is with a happy heart that I announce to you, my loving citizens (cheering crown full of glassy-eyes...pistols at their backs), that I am officially running for King, I mean Mayor of Detroit in 2005!"

Crack down on _______________ (boogeyman de jure) version 2.005 will be? crack houses! (Cuz it sounds good)

Will trumpet new housing, like Far East Side (will use the 300 figure, without acknowledging just how meaningless the developer's "commitments" really are).

Will blame anyone and everyone else for the ciurrent fiscal crisis (and either regret putting his earlier speeches on the web or edit like a madman). http://www.ci.detroit.mi.us/ma yor/speeches/speeches_main.htm

Mayor's plan to rescue Detroit is hampered by its lack of vision
By Daniel Howes / The Detroit News
Wednesday, March 23, 2005

"And here I thought we were in Detroit, a city teetering on the brink of financial and structural collapse.

But to hear Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick's State of the City address on Tuesday, to read its text again, is to enter instead a parallel universe that makes Motown sound like Chicago and New York and San Francisco rolled into one.

This apparently is a bustling metropolis laid low only by miserly bureaucrats in Lansing. Cheated by Republicans in Washington. And disrespected by negative harpies who just don't get it and don't understand the progress Kilpatrick & Co. has made over the past three years."

KK is soooo misunderstood. Riiiiggghhhttt
