Does anyone have a link to Kwame's post-primary remarks, either text or audio/visual? From the radio drops I've heard, he had some...er....

Do you mean from election night? Or later? When/where?

Kwame was obviously drunk that night.

Ltorivia485:
I think you're right.

Steve:
I do believe Chris is referring to the post-primary remarks Big Diamond made the evening of August 2nd. I know I would love to have seen them.

I was making reference to Kwame's primary night comments at his pep rally/revival meeting. I saw his comments live on Channel 7 that night.

His comments started out, "Yeahyeahyeahyeah..," there was a statement about the primary being about Kwame Kilpatrick vs. Kwame Kilpatrick and Kwame Kilpatrick won (always love people repeatedly talking in the 3rd person) and something about that second place was right where they wanted to be all along. It was a very surreal event...

Yes, I believe I saw that live but there was no link of the entire speech in print or on tape that I know of. If you were looking for something specific, perhaps I could help you find it. mailto:wilson@wxyz.com

There is no link of the tape because Kwame Kilpatrick made such a big fool of himself. If anyone grabs hold of the footage, it would cost his entire campaign. You probably noticed that they only showed footage of Freman Hendrix the entire night and next early morning.

VMS (Video Monitoring Service), a NYC-based transcript firm that serves ad agencies and stations will generate a transcript if given the date, air time and station . . .

. . . oh yes, and a check or credit card number.

They have an office in Bingham Farms.

That's where I got Freman's primary night text (posted on a separate thread), though not on my dime.

The most amusing line I remember was, "We're right where we want to be." I know he meant he was glad to survive the primary, but I notice that he didn't say that is where he preferred to be. Talk about painting a happy face on a disaster.

Ltorivia, Hendrix's election night speech was carried live.

And so was Kwame Kilpatrick's, Metrodetguy? What is your point?

My point was that you never saw the news replay Kilpatrick's live post-election results at the 11pm show or the early morning news. Kwame was a drunk, long-winded fool that night.

"You probably noticed that they only showed footage of Freman Hendrix the entire night..."

That statement isn't accurate. And that's the point Ltorivia.

When the results were in, THAT WAS ACCURATE. Yes, they showed clips of McPhail and Clarke, but all eyes were on the Freman party. Kwame? Poor him.

I think we're both right. I take footage to mean tape (that's why I mentioned that his speech was carried live). You take footage to mean coverage in general.

I seem to remember watching Kwame speaking live on Channel 7. The reporter was right in front of him, did a little intro thing, and then the camera panned over to the Mayor as he was giving his speech.
