For Immediate Release Hendrix Accepts Three Debate Invitations for General Election Detroit Aug 24, 2005 Today, the Freman Hendrix for Mayor Campaign announced that it accepted three debate invitations before the November 8th general election. The three debates in which Hendrix will participate are: September 15th, Detroit Economic Club October 17th, Wayne State University, WDIV and Clear Channel October 20th, WXYZ TV 7, WJR and various groups representing the Detroit community "Since the primary, our campaign has received a lot of debate offers," said campaign spokesperson Cathy Nedd. "We've accepted three invitations that cover a broad range of sponsors and will provide amble opportunity for all Detroiters to see the candidates debate. At least two will be broadcast live, which will enable Detroit voters to see and hear the candidates for mayor." Nedd said that these general election debates follow literally dozens of candidate debates and joint appearances that mayoral candidate Freman Hendrix participated in prior to the primary election. While the Hendrix Campaign has agreed to the three debates and their sponsors, the details and formats must still be negotiated. "Every Detroit voter who is interested will have an opportunity to hear our ideas and our plans for the future by the time they cast their vote," said mayoral candidate Freman Hendrix. "Just as in the primary, I look forward to a constructive exchange with Mayor Kilpatrick on our records, our ideas and prescriptions for a stronger Detroit."
