It's all over but the shouting, and there will be plenty of that in the weeks ahead. Maybe the Loyal Bus Drivers can give Kwame a ride out of town come November.

This is very bad for KK. He desperately needed to move in these polls to get some momentum. Instead it appears he is flat stuck. There is still time but this has to be grim and chilling news at the Manoogian Mansion.

KK is now cornered; he has almost no choice but to go nastily negative. Time is too short for persuasion. Watch for the mud to fly. There is no other hope. This could get ugly now.

but one has to wonder just how much mud there is to sling... as we've seen tonight, KK folks are really reaching. it's gotten to the point where if they keep slinging this junk, they're not going to help their cause, but rather hurt it. it looks ridiculous, because that's exactly what it is.

i say let 'em do it.

Poll numbers show a candidate who is in a desperate, desperate situation. No momentum and no sense or urgency coming out of their campaign.

KK was up in DC this past week for CBC weekend trying to raise money. Didn't appear to be as successful as they would have hope or needed. Are their dollars drying up?

The mud slinging will continue and only get worse from the KK folks. At this point what does he have to run on to convince voters to give him another four years?

Did anyone else notice that according to the poll a full 49 percent of people aged 40 and under prefer Kilpatrick to Hendrix? Does that scare anyone as much as it scares me? If the children are our future (which I believe), what does this spell for the Detroit body politic?

Past tense, Detbest. Past tense.

The Kilpatrick dollars have dried up.

In the final weeks, Hendrix will outspend Kilpatrick by at least a 2 to 1 margin.

Yes, the Kilpatrick camp will have to resort to outrageously slander against Hendrix. They have to.

Calm, civil discussions about policy issues rarely get any media attention. Kilpatrick can no longer afford to buy airtime or newspaper space. They therefore have to earn it by doing stupid, Jerry Springer-esque publicity stunts.

It's a shame, really. If they handled things better a few months ago, they could have arranged a slew of media events to bolster Mayor Kilpatrick's standing.

Instead, they seemed confident that the ABK would deteriorate into a huge amount of in-fighting between the Hendrix, McPhail and Clarke camps. That, of course, hasn't happened in any significant numbers. (Brian and ILD appear to be the exceptions; not the rule).

I wouldn't worry about that, too much. Generations X and Y, who make up that demographic, are notoriously fickle when it comes to politics.

Gen-X helped put Clinton in the White House and then turned out for George W. Bush not too much later.

Well, I guess I better buy one of them "Stop Buying Prostitutes Fatass" t-shirts soon. I hope Hendrix comes up with an equally hilarious catch phrase.

The irony here is with the Superbowl. It was KK's chance to shine, but if things stand the way they are now, he'll be out of office in January, and Hendrix will be in the spotlight come the February 2006 event.

KK probably already has his tickets, so he will be able to "view it from the sidelines".

BTW: What's Kilpatrick going to do ...

1. With his CEO baseball cap?
2. With monogram French cut link shirts with "The Mayor" inscribed?
3. About a new residence since he no longer owns a home in Detroit?

More than likely, sell it on eBay.

quote:

2. With monogram French cut link shirts with "The Mayor" inscribed?

Same as with #1. I'm sure Richard Daley will bid on them.

quote:

3. About a new residence since he no longer owns a home in Detroit?

He does have signs up around town, boosting about the number of new housing developments in town.

Granted, most of the lofts and such downtown do sell out - often even before they finish building them.

Luckily for him, there are developers looking to convert the Madison-Lenox and Statler into residential...

Oh, wait...

Sorry. That won't work now, will it?

It seems to me that you're the only one tossing this "savior" crap around. Danny is an isolated case. You can almost just ignore the guy. He means well, but he comes off as slightly off the wall. The rest of us on the board who support Hendrix have no illusions about the fact that he's not perfect. Seems to me that you associate the fact that people think he's a better and obvious choice over Kilpatrick with the fact that they may think he can do no wrong. Any reasonable person knows that politicians aren't perfect. Sharon McPhail certainly isn't. Neither is Kwame Kilpatrick. Or Freman Hendrix. But out of those three, I'll take Freman every time.

Why did you claim to be a woman...then a man?

Why did you claim to be White...then Black...then White and Black...then White, Black, and Native American...then someone that does not identify with one particular race?

Why did you claim to be an impartial observer that found this forum out of the blue?

Why did you claim to originally be a Hendrix supporter...then denied it...then admitted to it...then denied it again?

Why did you claim to support Kilpatrick...then claim to be undecided...then back to Kilpatrick?

Why have you made countless false allegations against Hendrix?

Why do you wonder why no one believes anything that you say?

Why ask why?

Metro:

Why are you even asking questions. It's evident that ILD has your attention and you are very curious. You are the only one who keeps questioning Ild's gender and race. Have you not figured it out yet? ILD doesn't want you to know. And what does it matter anyway? I could give two shits who you are. If you are male or female, black or white, gay or straight. We are just posting opinions.

Everyone has a right to their opinions. False accusations right? There is no proof on anything so it must not be true....right? WRONG! People are so stupid. The Manoogian Mansion party didn't take place.....all the accusations about Hendrix are lies...OJ didn't do it, Michael Jackson didn't do it, and we are in Iraq to find weapons of mass destruction.

Yall better start thinking for yourselves and get your heads out of your butts!

Yes, I know ILD and Quinn, we were all behind Sharon. But maybe because you have had your head stuck up your butt for so long, you do not realize that Sharon is not in the race anymore. Maybe ILD and Quinn have decided on who they are voting for, but I am still not convinced.

NEWSFLASH: ILD, Quinn, and myself are three different people with three different minds, who all think for ourselves. I respect their opinions and I respect what they have to say. But since I am an individual, I make up my own mind.

So Metro, keep posting your ignorant posts all day long, it makes my day at work go by faster.

Metro who do you think I am? I'm hurt that you aren't asking...

I'll give you three tantilizing options:

1. White woman who lives in Ferndale who works downtown at compuware.

2. Black woman who lives in Barry Subdivision and works at the city county building.

3. Asian man who lives in green acres and works in bloomfield hills as an attorney.
