Wait what was that line tonight? "You could have afforded the same condo at my RESIDENCE in Florida" ... here is the residence. I wonder if KK could really afford it on his civil servant's salary. http://www.whoisfremanhendrix. com/chapter2.htm |

"Ilovedetroit" you "forgot" to mention that Mrs. Kilpatrick makes $100k as the (part-time) head of KK's "children's foundation". Remember how most of the foundation's money went toward's paying the salaries of KK's wife and sister, rather than the stated goal of helping children. So yes, the Kilpatrick's with a dual income of $276k could have afforded a condo in Florida. You also "forgot" to mention that FH's wife works as an executive at the corporate level, making a six-figure salary. But you're right, the "mere civil servant" angle was going so well for you. Just like you're a "mere (McPhail...now Kilpatrick) campaign volunteer that hands out flyers". |

Is that the answer your boss FH is instructing you to say Metro? Yes we are all aware of where the money came from...and I am sure work had nothing to do with it. Still you have to admit your boss stumbled ALL over his answer at the debate. Made it all look even shadier with his bumbled answer. |

"Don't worry your investment will be safe under KK". I don't think so. I have a neighbor who's house has been on the market for 2 years (no joke). Home was listed at $139,000, it is reduced to $119,000. You call that safe? I can't afford to sale my home at $119,000. Housing market was blooming when Archer/Hendrix was in office. |

Honey - The entire economy was booming then...don't blame KK. I just had a friend who sold their house in Grosse Pointe and lost 140K, and another buddy who can't sell their house in Rochester Hills. This is not a Detroit City problem. What will help is to get KKs tax bill passed - he is two years ahead of Hendrix. Tax reform (even though it is not for the entire city) is one of the best wasy to improve our housing value. |

"KKs tax bill passed". What tax bill? The NEZ? Shit, that don't work for my hood. About time this bill takes affect in my area, everyone will be homeless. How many people are moving into this city, or moving to other parts of the city? Not many, I would think. Who can afford the high taxes and insurance. Those 3 papers that you read, you better check out what's being sold in the realestate section. Those homes are in Grosse Pointe and Rochester Hills, not Detroit. I live in Detroit not those places, I am speaking of Detroit. Of course he would be ahead of Hendrix, Hendrix wasn't the mayor of Detroit. Why would your friend lose $140,000 on their home? |

First my friend who lost the 140k was stupid...but he could not sell his house and after a year took that big a loss. Kilpatrick has a tax bill before the legislature that will lower taxes (all home owners got letters from his office about 2 months ago)...Granholm said she would pass it. BUt it is held up in the legislature - politics. A bunch of Freman supporters are holding it up includig Howdy Doody Clarke. I don't love KKs tax plan (won't help me either in my hood) but it is a step forward in the right direction. It is not NEZ it is across the board tax breaks for 80% of Detroit home owners in areas like Palmer WOods, Sherwood FOrrest, Rosedale Park, Green Acres etc... established neighborhoods that have growth potential. Maybe it is on his web site. Hendrix does not have a tax plan. Just words is all he has produced so far. |

what I am upset about is Hendrix and his failure to mention that this deal was a"flip"... saying this in terms that the Detroit citizen can understand will help him out... a lot of people are flipping property nowadays...why doesnt he just say "it was a flip...i bought it for XXx and sold it for XXX" I made money like every other real estate flipper in the area |

"I wonder if KK could really afford it on his civil servant's salary". Sure he can, he probably never took the pay cut that some of his appointees took. If he did, he probably found a way to have his salary restored plus get retro pay. Hell he's been spending the taxpayers money, living free rent at the mansion, driving city own cars, not paying DTE or water bills. He should be rich. Let's see $176,176 plus x 3.5 (round it off 4 years). You do the math!!!! (Message edited by 1honey on October 25, 2005) (Message edited by 1honey on October 25, 2005) |

Because I doubt if it was a flip. I am sure the real story will come out one day. |

ILD - it was a flip...don't try to cast me off into the land of voters who take sounds...i cant even vote in the Detroit election... the information that I saw says he flipped it Property pays off By Feb. 26, 2001, Hendrix's name -- along with the names of his wife, brother and sister-in-law -- was on a deed for a 1,950-square-foot, high-rise condo in Naples, Fla. They paid $369,900. Hendrix said this week that he heard through word of mouth in Detroit that the Dunes of Naples development, by Detroit entrepreneur Tony Soave, was in the planning stages. He said he did not speak with Soave about the condo. Hendrix said he bought the condo at market rate without any special deals. A Free Press review of Collier County real estate records shows the purchase price was in line with similar condos sold at the time. In January 2003, the two couples sold the condo for $580,000 -- a 57% profit, during a time when Naples housing values increased more than 50%, according to Collier County records. http://www.freep.com/news/locw ay/hendrix15e_20050715.htm |

ILD - can't you read? It wasn't a "sweet deal" if he paid market rates: "A Free Press review of Collier County real estate records shows the purchase price was in line with similar condos sold at the time." But, of course, you can read. You just choose to lie, cloud, obfuscate. You are starting to come through cyberspace like an evil spirit. Examine your conscience and ask yourself why you write these evil things, that you have to know are lies. |

a sweet deal is what you can get right now if you buy on the west coast of Florida...I was in St Pete for vacation in July and I could buy a condo for 150K...and 3 mths later Money Mag says its one of the places that hasn't been hit buy the housing bubble and will still appreciate...so if I were to sell today (had I bought) I could have easily made 175-200K... SWEEEEEEET! |
