Do you have any stories of 4th Street? Share them here.

So who else was there his year? It was a perfect lazy, hazy summer day in the D. This an and more on a new webisode of old and wonderful topic - The 4th Street Fair where you will find this and more...

I had a great time this year but due to heat fatigue and hangover from the day before I couldn't hang to the wee hours. Almost ended up with an apartment on the block yesterday

I once lived in an apartment on 4th, in a building "run" by a wonderful, sweet lady named Alma Stone. She was brutally murdered, some time later. Anyone remember her?

It appears to be the 'Punk Fitness' people. They have workout sessions set to punk tunes at the Belmont on Tuesday eves, and at other bars one or two nights a week. Brilliant idea to get the barfly hipsters in shape.

Lowell --

Great pics, from a great day.

As a quick FYI, it is Chris Turner (Millenium Bell) not Jesse.

You might want to edit that pic in your tour.

But once again, great pics.

Thanks for spotting that Dabirch - a little slip in my scan and jam haste. Don't know how I did that as I have a portrait of Chris by Maureen Maki at my house. That's what I love about the web - it is self-editing.

My two favorite acts of the year were Space Band [the hippie freakout noise jazz band that makes use of toys and dinosaur/lizard masks], and whatever that band was that played until midnight with the 8-year-old, and 12-year-old guitarists. They did a cover of Now I Wanna Be Your Dog long after their bedtime.

The band with the 2 kids are The Muldoons. Their dad is the 3rd member of the group and he is good friends with Jack White from their old neighborhood. Some of you might recall that The Muldoons opened for The White Stripes at their last Masonic Temple show.

Caught the Detroit Cobras at the DSO/Max (toned down a bunch compared to their usual late night shows) and then to 4th St. Its a different world in the dark, hard not to stumble over all the garbage. THTX great as usual, Amino Acids played a short set freakout (couldn't imagine wearing the nylons over their heads in that heat), amused by the mosh that fueled the wasted guy who struggled for 10 minutes with the adhoc 'stage security' during the Detroit 442s, and finally got to see the Muldoons & loved 'em. I missed it, but my son described seeing the type of experience that I told him he wouldn't see at TastefestJazzfestConcertofColo rs but may find at his first 4th St. : during the Amino Acids, the guy 3' in front of my son & his 4 friends was enjoying a VERY close encounter with said guy's female partner...was apparently quite amusing when he fell over trying to get his pants back in their original position..and I was only 5' away and never saw a thing...like I said, its different in the dark.

Stumbled onto the site my bud Lowell started years ago. Really enjoyed the video of 4th St. Fair.
Reeminds me about all the fun we had their. I was a longtime resident (20+ yrs.), homeowner and Fair founder. Let's hope that Tigers great night can bring more positive times and vibes to Motwon. Party on Youth!
