i'm looking for a good aerial photo of downtown. specifically: bounded by the x-ways and the river. does anybody have one, or know where i can find one? preferably color, taken within the past few years, taken from a river perspective, and in digital format. but anything would help right now. thanks in advance...

try http://www.datadetroit.org Click on maps and then interactive maps. Choose Motowns Downtowns and then click the imagery button on the left. Now you can zoom in, overlay data layers etc.

No new views of the city from me lately, but I passed over the top at 39,000' last Sunday and had a good view of Lake St Clair:

RSA, this is as far downriver as the original photo extends. I screwed up and never saved the original, so this is a grainy copy, but I'll send the full size photo to you and see what you can do with it.

I'm handicapped by using a pocket-sized camera, from a fast moving platform, shooting through 3 panes of glass, each seperated by a thin mesh of gold filaments, usually with unavoidable interior reflections on the inner pane.

Palmer Park was looking very lush last week:

Hey AIW, what do they grow near Point Pelee that requires these shelters? Tomatoes? Acres of them seemed to have appeared during the past week or two:

MikeM -

Lots of tomatoe farming near Point Pelee. I drive through Leamington often on my way to the park at Point Pelee and there are row after row of those hot houses.
