Nope not really. I usually only get parking tickets in midtown, I've never even seen meter maids on Washington Blvd. But I'm sure someone here will say the opposite.

I guess that's my cue:-)

I used to have an office in the Book Tower, and I saw meter maids on Washington all the time. We had a guy forget to put money in the meter one day, and he had a ticket within 10 minutes.

If you park on Madison, you'll see meter maids for sure.

Free parking north is available along Winder, north of Comerica. There's usually lots of cars there, so your chances of being messed with are less than, say, any of the abandoned streets in Brush Park. If you can afford it, there's no luxury as luxurious as the Opera House Garage on Broadway.

You used to be able to park in the Greektown ramp and get it validated before they put those computer validators in. Now they check to see when you come in. If you came in the ramp before 10:00 or something like that it's $8. If you enter after 10:00 it's free with the validation.

Chitaku, where are you working? There is a variety of inexpensive parking downtown. Just depends on where you are working. Most lot and garage owners have pretty good monthly deals as well.
