Today the Knicks let Larry Brown go as the head coach. I personally wouldn't mind ditching Flip, and getting Brown back as a Piston (I know this wont happen, but I'm just saying). Say what you will about the last season, but under Brown's watch the Pistons got the record for holding teams under 70 points for 6, or 7 games. Also he kept the team in order. Though Flip help the Pistons to be the team with the best record in the league, they weren't a good playoff team at all.

What's anyone else think?

I think that Brown's time has passed. The rules are gradually being changed to allow teams to run up scores, and I don't think any team with offensive droughts like we had under Brown can survive anymore.

When Brown was here, the Pistons were able to survive their offensive droughts due to their defense though. With Flip they've changed their whole dynamic to try and out score everyone.

Isiah led the Pacers to a 40 win or so season in 2002-2003. With the exact same players, Rick Carlisle won 60(?) games as the coach. Isiah is a joke as a GM, but he may be even worse as a head coach!

How short our memories are. You don't remember the similar locker room rebellion under Brown during the playoffs in 2005?

The hell of it is that he's probably on the phone right now setting up another gig for next season.

It's good work if you can find it.

What does that have to do with anything? He said Brown kept the team in order, when in 2005, that couldn't have been further from the truth.

There may be value to his coaching skill over Saunders, but come on. Larry Brown again? We'd look like the biggest jackasses on the planet.

No way would Mr. D hire Larry Brown back. That guy couldn't commit to the team (how is the team supposed to commit to you?) for one year under that flimsy guise of "health reasons". I still contend that if he had committed to the PIstons and then a health issue arose he could've ducked out of it to take care of it; what owner wouldn't let him take care of it if that was the case? But instead Brown gave us this weak excuse and darted off to his "dream job". I cried no tears for him when he & the Knicks imploded.

I appreciate what he's done for basketball, the Pistons, etc. but he burned us once and lied to us. I wouldn't take him back at all.
