The dealers would probably be claimed as their own, perhaps a generation or two removed, if they were doing something good. But, nope, now they're Detroiters. Hillbilly Highway |

It works both ways. The Chambers Brothers left the Arkansas Delta town of Turrell to make it in the big time drug trade in Dee-troit, L.A., and Chicago ... |

Oh sure, Blame the Detroiters. The rednecks can't control thier own and they wanna blame us. Too bad I guess. My dad traveled that "hillbilly highway" in 1967. found work at the Caddy plant on Clark St. Was there until the late 1980's and went to the poletown plant, retired in 2001. 31 years. best thing he ever did... Lord knows, I'm greatful. Them people just looking for someone to blame. (Message edited by k8cpachuck on June 25, 2006) (Message edited by k8cpachuck on June 25, 2006) |

Growing up, jjaba was always told that Ashland to Louisa, Ky. on US 23 was the most windy curvy road in the country. Has it improved since the 1940s? jjaba. |

once again all the worlds evil comes from Detroit,.. Yeh Right.... Another case of F@#*ing ignorant people afraid to look at themselves to see drugs are part of American society. Until we help the addicts overcome the power of addiction, society will bare the burden. As for blaming this problem on drug dealers from the D, one has to ask where is personal accounability????????????? Just wondering.... |

well maybe i should have said I would collapse, but thats another story. I do however think that regardless of if they are bad or not they do contribute greatly to our economy. Without druges we would need alot less police officers, drug enforcement officers, prison guards, customs officials, rehab center employees, hospital employees, syringe makers, rolling paper makers, glass makers, twinkie makers (LOL), tye dye shirt makers, motivational speakers etc. not to mention the vehicles and supplies purchased to by people involved. Thats alot of jobs, not to mention all the pharmecutecals or supposed "good drugs". Im not saying drugs make the world a better place, but i sure dont think we would be better off without them. |

those jobs are payed for by tax payers, and are a burden to taxpayers. The government's job isn't to employ people anyway. Yeah, those jobs are made (I don't think it's a huge industry though), but other hobbies make just as many or more jobs. I think other hobbies have more support industries too. A lot of drugs are bought from other countries, which means money is leaving the country. |
