Detroit Pistons
2005-06 record: 64-18

Their picks: 60

Their needs: The first order of business is taking care of Ben Wallace, either signing him, signing him and trading him or letting him leave via free agency. If they believe the starting five still has enough left to win together with some added depth, then they should re-sign Wallace and go after it again. But coach Flip Saunders has to foster a bench, that's for sure — with the prodding of additions from Joe Dumars. We don't know if Carlos Delfino is the answer for points off the bench if he doesn't play, but we do know Antonio McDyess still has some pop left. Maurice Evans showed flashes, but unless he gets a steady 18-20 minutes, we won't know for sure.

What will happen: The minutes will drop for the starters, who have played more than any other players in the league the past three years. They will add an athletic swing player and should re-sign Wallace. That's the conventional wisdom, but Dumars has made his mark being unconventional, so anything is possible.

They need to convince Lindsey Hunter to stick around another season. I always feel better when I see him come off the bench.
