I'm sure this Art Deco Wilson Mausoleum must warm the cockles of the Wilson's hearts. Let's hope so because it does mine just seeing the beauty of their deaths! Matilda Dodge Wilson In the end all we have is a photo of our likeness if we're lucky!! Livedog2 |

Some of the neatest architecture in Detroit can be found in its cemeteries. Heck, most cemeteries are fascinating to stroll through. I do it all the time; started when I began searching for my roots some years back. Quite pleasant on a fine day. |

I agree Ray. When in an older big city, I'll usually cruise through the main graveyard. Mount Pleasant in Toronto is a good one if you're ever up that way. |

jjaba recently visited the following graves. Colonel Harlan Sanders, Louisville. Ernest Hemmingway, Ketchum, Idaho (left a half-bottle of red wine and a nice Havana.) Joe Louis, Arlington Natl. Cemetery, Va. Always leave a pebble on the stone to show respect and let it be known of your visit. jjaba. |

The cemeteries of Detroit are some of the most fascinating places...both for their art and architecture and for the people!! Thanks, AIW, for the Wilson/Parducci photos! Recently I was in Hollywood where friends and I laid flowers of Miss Hattie McDaniel in recognition of her fine film achievements. We also visited Hollywood Forever and Forest Lawn Glendale cemeteries where the graves of the stars abound. When in Atlanta, being the Gone With The Wind fan that I am, we always make a stop at Oakland Cemetery to visit the grave of Margaret Mitchell. A pebble is left on each visit. |

Actually, Ray1936, these are Margaret Mitchell's parents on this side. She's on the other side with her husband under her married name Marsh.
