Good luck with that, we just had an election and the people spoke, whether you agree with their choice or not. |

The Coalition’s Agnes Hitchcock says Detroit-ers pay the highest taxes in Michigan even while unemployment surges in the city. Call em' Out's agenda is ending privitization and providing more government funds for the poor. If it meant furthering their causes, CeO would happily embrace a doubling of income and property taxes. The real reason for the recall is that Agnes is mad at the school board because of the Aramark contract, and at city counsel because they havent' yet obeyed her commandment to launch a scheme to forgive outstanding water bills for the poor. She should just be honest why she's doing this, instead of hiding behind, "We're overtaxed." |

Call em' Out recognizes the absolute and complete incompetence of the city politicians. It is unfortunate that the citizenry doesn't recognize that they are the reason for the deplorable state of the city. For 40 years this city has been victimized by the incompetence of the elected officials. Detroit stands out as the example of failure of political leadership in many political science courses in this country. The Coalition has some meritorious issues, some petty. As a city, we continue to get what we elect... |

This group is really going to shake up the city this year. Regardless of whether you like them or not, they will have an effect on the Governors race and of course the positions taken by the mayor, the school board and the CC. |

Let's not even get started on the school board. They don't have a damn clue what's going on. they didn't even know teachers took concessions so as to get school started on time.....and they voted February to be "African American WORLD History month"......doesn't the American in there negate the world part? They need to get some better folks in there who really know DPS...ie teachers, parents, etc. More regular folk who have a vested interest in the schools....people who have kids in the schools will better serve the KIDS and not worry about all the other crap. And....the mayor really has no control over the schools at all.......although I think he should at least have some voice since education in Detroit effects just about everything, from filling up the neighborhoods, economy, taxes, all that stuff.....just my thoughts. |

If I were writing something for my students or a scholarly work, I would proofread. Since this is the internet I use many elipsis so as to not drag things on. My punctuation is just fine in real life. Are you the grammar and mechanics police? |

There were other errors besides the punctuation in your penultimate and your last posts in this thread. Teachers should set better examples, as Focus suggests. But, we all make mistakes. Besides, you have plenty of time to fix things. It's summer; school's out... |

My only pet peeve is people who misuse ellipses. There are only supposed to be three dots. |

Detroit once had an excellent good mass transit system. But thanks largely to crooked politicians and others, we now have one of the most tax subsidized and expensive bus systems in the world. Click on link below and sign my petition drive and I will personally coordinate all the buses and fill them up. I can promise you this because I know how to do this and did in the western suburbs. YES, I can fill the buses up all over metro Detroit and if I can't then please tell me. Who can? http://savethefueltax.tripod.c om/theplan.html |

Does anybody know about Ed Conrad and his posting religion at many thousands of fora all over the Usenet? Reminds me of JWs and their ubiquitous Watchtowers and Trainmen with petitions... |
