Have you ever seen a time line painted on a wall or exhibit in the Detroit area? perhaps something in Cranbrook or the DIA? I am trying to find "samples" for a project. Anyone know where to begin?

In the basement of the Detroit Historical Museum there is a diorama of 20 or so different showcases, each with a different period scene showing Detroit from the founding in 1701, to the 20th century.

The timeline at the Holocaust Memorial Center, as Itsjeff pointed out, is a great timeline, not only of Jewish history, but also of world history. It's circular, so you start at the beginning and can walk all the way around "time" in a circle. One of the most impressive timelines I've come across in this area. Definitely worth a trip to 12 Mile Rd. and Orchard Lake to see it.

Try the book, "Detroit in it's World Setting". It is one big time line of the Detroit area.

Also the Detroit Almanac
