I remember making my parents drive to three different video stores when I was about 7 years old, until we finally found it. I remember loving it so much that I don't even want to watch again because there's no way it could live up to the memories. |

Yes, when I was in Cub Scouts each summer we would go to the ballpark. One year they were filming the scean where they let what seemed to be a million balloons go. A a child I thought that was pretty cool, but when I saw the movie I saw my little sister in one of the crowd shots. That made me mad because I wasn't in it! |

Never saw this movie, probably the Disney stigma kept me away from it at the time, but am interested in seeing it now considering the stadium's fate. In an related topic, has anyone read Tom H. Stanton's "The Final Season", about the last year at Tiger Stadium? Just found out about the book. Won an award for best baseball book of the year. |

I haven't read Tom Stanton's book, but knowing his quality writing I'm not surprised that he won an award. I remember watching Tiger Town several times as a kid. For a few years in elementary school I rented it every year for my annual birthday slumber party. I always thought it was so cool to watch a movie filmed in a place that I visited several times a summer with family. Does anyone remember the rumors that this is what propelled the Tigers to win the pennant in '84?
