quote:

The three men who were arrested each face a $10,000 fine

Now this could be a profitable use of police resources.

Better than chasing away visitors with parking tickets to raise revenue...

Good news, but I'm sure we all want to know the obvious.... where were these guys from?? Were they dumping "residential" trash or "commercial/industrial" trash???

Inquiring minds want to know?

I am glad to see this, not only does this trash make things look terrible - but it costs a fortune to eventually clean it up.

Glad to see that the Mayor's "War on Illegal Dumping" is finally paying off.

Now, for the million dollar question, why didn't they say what suburb they were from?

Good, make their dumb-asses have to spend 200 hours cleaning up the city in addition to a huge fine.

that's right where my friend's building is. He's had to pay to have shit hauled away from dumpers before. If the police bust enough of them, the word might get out that the city is no longer everyone's dump.

Cane 'em, but be sure to get their $10G first. We'll need it to pay them back when they sue the city and it gets settled by the City Council.

Maybe now the police can start citing evangelists who come up from Toledo on weekends to city parks, leaving behind bags of clothes with which the park drunks proceed to wipe their asses. But hey, if the Holy Spirit "moves" them, the last thing the Mayor's office wants to do is piss off any Christian charitable effort.

As many bad things as I might want to say about the Salvation Army, I'll give them this: The money they receive from the sales of clothing they collect actually goes to providing some shelter for some homeless people, and doesn't end up covered with fecal matter on the sidewalk in front of the Masonic Temple. Truly _Wicked_.

You kind of wonder why it's taken so long to get this stuff enforced.
Still, it's good news anytime an illegal dumpster gets nabbed and has to pay up.
