Frank Hecker was on the board of directors of Woodlawn, so it's not surprising his tomb is there. He was also the President of the "Peninsular Motor Car Co.". Anyone have any data on that firm?

The Hecker mansion is now occupied by the Charfoos law firm which spent a mint refurbishing the place. They work in very attractive quarters. The staircase is a real knock-out. The son of one of the partners was married on the staircase. Quite a setting.
They turned the carriage house behind the mansion into a replica of a real court room. They have used the court room to "try" a case of theirs that's coming up for trial, even paying folks to come in and act as jurors to critique the lawyer's performance before the case actually goes to trial downtown. It looks like the real McCoy. WSU law school used it for some of their moot court competitions.
Originally, the firm sought to negotiate for the Motown Building but got no cooperation with the city. The Hecker mansion turned out to be a much better opportunity and their efforts have certainly been realized.

As a kid my sincere intention was to grow up, play centerfield for the tigers and earn enough $ to buy the Smiley Bros Piano Building as my home (maybe I'd hafta buy a Bosendorfer or two to sweeten the deal, I dunno). I could walk to the DIA and Library and ride my bike to Tiger Stadium to go to work. I would keep an airplane at City airport ~10 minutes away to jet off to whereever I wanted to go.

My friend wanted to grow up and buy the Tigers and convert the football pressbox on the third deck along the third base line into his home.

Rustic---it's not too late. Go to law school, pass the bar, join the Charfoos firm( I got connections ), and you can have the Hecker mansion as a second home and fulfill your sincere intentions.

Rustic, The Rock is right. Never too late.
Briggs Stadium is vacant and up for sale.
Get a job at 7-11 and work really hard.
You can do it, your 2,697 posts is proof.
We know you can work late. The Rock will help with Health Care Ins. and lawsuits for messing up the Slurpies.

jjaba, call me if you need a Jewish lawyer.
