Jim Price said during the Tiger post-game that these two were at Comerica Park. I didn't hear him say why. Anybody know?

This sounds like fun!!!

Hanks and friends continue ballpark tour

CINCINNATI — Actor Tom Hanks and two show business friends turned a rain delay into an event Wednesday.

Hanks, director Ron Howard and comedian Dennis Miller made Great American Ball Park their third stop on their hush-hush ballparks tour. A two-hour rain delay during the Reds-New York Mets game provided a chance to snap photos with fans and offer their opinions of the game.

Wow, what a great picture of Tom Hanks in that Yahoo link. I guess just trying to fit in with the hoi polloi.

Comedian Dennis Miller? He hasn't been funny in about 15 years, has-been would be more appropriate.

Poor Oldredfordette - can't handle a right-leaning comedian.

Detroit - AP - Reactions were predictable today when entertainers Ron Howard, Tom Hanks and Dennis Miller were introduced to the Detroit City Counsel.

Ron looks like Opie Taylor's great-grandfather. Seeing him makes me feel old.

The guy in the lower right looks like Theodore Roosevelt.

The coverage on WDIV last night showed Tom Hanks in a navy blue hat with the old english "D" and Ron Howard was wearing a beige cap. Not to mention, Bernie Smilovitz commented that Dennis Miller didn't make the trip to Detroit but was in Cincinnati the night before.

Now, I'm not implying that the Detroit News is fabricating...but I don't think that picture is from Comerica Park. The lighting also doesn't look appropriate for an afternoon game.

I'll be at the afternoon game against the A's on Saturday. I wonder if I'll end up in the paper.

I watched yesterday's game on ESPN and they showed Hanks and Howard a few times duting the game. The large photo at the top of the DN link above was not from Detroit, but the smaller one on the right was.

Sorry, Karl, but I have to agree with OldRedfordette - sort of. Personally, I don't think Dennis Miller was EVER funny. When he used to do the "news" on SNL he just seemed SO stuck on himself - not entertaining!
