Okay so the company I work for has this website called Discussdetroit.com. It is very similar to this one. However, they have kind of let the site die over the past couple of years. I have been put in charge of bringing it back to life, being that I am from Detroit. I would really appricate if some of you gusy get could over to that site and wake it up a bit. We've started a couple of new forums, msotly in sports, but there are politics, news, and everything else Detroit. Get over the and help me wake it up!

Oh and the registering part... Do it I won't sell your e-mail or other information to anybody. We just do that to keep stats.

Well since you've signed up for detroityes (hopefully to do more than plug discussdetroit) we'll check out your site.

You'll pick up a lot of development news and, of course, commentary on Detroit on this site. Lowell has done a good job. We also debate politics and have lots of threads dedicated to sharing knowledge of local history, etc.

Hey I've been going to town on the Detorit sports post because Detroit sports are my passion. You don't have to worry about me using this site as just a way to increase traffic on the other one. I go to school in Iowa and never get to talk Detroit news or sports to any of my friends so any chance I get I love.

You're in the right place then. I've gotten pretty hooked over the last year. The forumers are more diverse than you would anticipate, too. Tons of ideas exchanged here. Hope your website starts breathing again.

Uhm, not sure if anyone else noticed... Detroit is misspelled in the header graphic on that site... It's not "Detriot"....

That was the first thing I noticed....Detriot. I am in recruiting and I am always amazed at how many people misspell Detroit on their applications and they live there!

OK, I have checked it out. A couple of my favorite DYes forumers have posted here too, so I hope they will offer advice.

It appears, based on the site, that there are a lot of viewers but very few posters. Check out the Paul McCartney thread for example ... 142 viewers and no posters? For some reason the white background is not asthetically pleasing ... it made me want to exit the site ... It also seems like the site is quite like the hotfudgedetroit.com site.

I think perhaps your topics need to be more general, like the topics here ... (Discuss Detroit, Connections, Non-Detroit, etc.) The wide variety of topics is too confusing because there are so many broad sub-topics beneath them.

It will take some time (it is certainly not impossible) for the site to be successful. It's very obvious that those interested in Detroit will go to great lengths to discuss the positive things going on in the city.

Good Luck. You came to the right place for feedback.

The "Detroit" thing should be fixed in the next couple of days. Come on people just go over to that site and post a message; it helps a fellow postee out and just takes a second to do

Charlie was also a stinky perfume, but it never stopped chicks from wearing it...

Though truth be told, I do like things here at DYes quite a bit more than "that site"...

I do like this one more as well, but that is because of the depth of content which we are trying to change over there

well, imho, it's kind of rude to go to another forum to advertise your forum. If I owned a new restaurant, I most certainly wouldn't find it acceptable to walk into neighboring restaurants and advertise my business. But, once again, that's just my humble opinion.
