Outrageous!

Actually, for a minute I thought by Sheriff you meant Michael Bouchard. I was hoping for something that would sink his ship before the primary.

I'm surprised it wasn't in Macomb County. Maybe they've upgraded to crack now?

Wow...looks like there's an opening in the OC Sheriff's Dept. if anyone's interested...

P.S. What's 'not in the suburbs' about?

Meth is a serious national epidemic, common in cities and suburbs alike.

And lots of regular white kids who go to WSU and get caught up in the bad crowd and now can be seen wandering around "midtown" strung out of their minds...

I was in the middle of the hills of West Virginia white water rafting last week, when our guide pointed out a guy that was kayaking nearby. Our guide made reference to the guy, who was drinking RedBull and noted it probably had Meth in it. I laughed like he was kidding and he said, you laugh - he has kids at home.

Looks like its not just a city and suburb thing.

That Meth is some scary shit. HBO and Frontline (PBS) have done excellent documentaries about it. It started in California and is making its way across the country. It is extremely prevalent in the rural middle areas of the country as it is easy to make and in most places the materials are still available in cold medecine.
Depressing and scary:

As a parent of two young men (18 and 20), I'm saddened about the escalating drug use among teens and young adults everywhere. It hit close to home earlier this year when a young man that attended school and played baseball with our son died of a heroin overdose.

Jt1, read the list of endorsements for Butler. It's impressive. http://butlerforsenate.com/end orsements.asp

The Oakland county sheriff didn't even get the endorsement of the Oakland County Prosecutor, nor the Republican Party of his county (because Butler won them over). Butler probably won't win next Tuesday, but Bouchard will definitly fail miserably against Stabmenow.

...anyway, back to the drugs. Meth mouth is disgusting, thanks for sharing Chitaku.

I guess I can be classified as a regular white kid, whatever that may mean, but upon moving from the suburbs to Detroit I have seen more drug use out in the burbs then here. Most regular white kids that go to Wayne State and develope drug problems most likely had them before they came here. And I have to say I really haven't seen to many " regular white kids " carrying thier backpacks all strung out on the way to class. I am guessing you have made this assumption on your own, but thanks for the new stereotype Susanarosa we can always use more of those.

When I used to live in San Diego, you could literally smell the meth people were cooking up. It had a very distinct smell. Cali was/is the meth capitol of America.

Drugs are a very serious problem. When a law enforcement officer of this many years gets caught up... especially in his line of work, he's probably seen first hand how drugs destroy peoples' lives.

Very sad. He's ruined his career, likely to do some time. SAD!

I'm not sure about what's more sad: cops busted for drug posession, or the Oakland/Michigan GOP running Bouchard only because they're pissed off about a black candidate for US Senator?

Drug problems are a major issue in suburbs and small towns. More so then in the city.

Studies have shown that suburbs have more drug use then cities, and small towns, lets not even get into them. My school my nephew goes to out in a rural town, has tons of drugs going on.
