On my way into work today around 9am getting onto I-96 just north of I-75, I noticed a house on fire just on the west side of 96, near MLK Blvd. It was right next to the freeway, I could see fireman up on the roof of the house working on the blaze. Then on the way home around 7pm, smoke was pouring across I-96 in the same general area, from a different fire on the *east* side of 96, just a few blocks east of the freeway, again near MLK Blvd. Looked like firefighters were on the scene again. This is pure speculation, but two fires so close to each other on the same day seems a bit suspicious... Of course, a significant percentage of fires are arson anyway, but in this case it seems highly likely. (Message edited by Dougw on August 04, 2006) | ||

Arsonists struck on the East side and they were so stupid they burned themselves up. They (at least this is the hypothesis) were trying to do an insurance scam on a house that was for sale and ended up getting doused with the gasoline. Dummies then light the match and caught their own butts on fire. There was an explosion in the house, though. See arson hurts people. In this case, arson hurt the right people. | ||

I stopped by a house fire about two weeks ago in the same 96/ MLK area. This house was completely burnt out. Sounds like something is going on. | ||
