Some good news about the gem on the gem. The Conservatory on Belle Isle is going to get its heating system replaced, broken panes of glass replaced and (about damn time) get it's glass cleaned. The Historical Museum and now the Conservatory. The DIA is pretty much closed down too. More like "out of service".... This is good news. Too bad they cannot recreate the missing exterior fancy fretwork that was removed decades ago. Wasn't the conservatory part of a Worlds Fair in its' infancy? Since it dates to the beginning of the 20th century would that be the Lewis & Clark Centennial Exposition? |
