Does anyone have any info about this place they could share? I'm going down there tomorrow to check out the units as I'm looking to move downtown in the fall...

I browsed the archives and found some useful info, but I was hoping someone here on the forum might live there or know someone who does.

Thanks

I checked out the units when the first opened, and they're really nice. Liked everything about them. They're some of the best lofts I've seen around here.

I have been there, too. I very niece, quite and secured. If you decided to but a M.R. loft you will recieve a 50% NEZ tax break for 12 years and a $300 trash collection fee (possibly). But find out about the trash collection fees first, is it by a private company that you can pay a cheaper fee or by the City of Detroit?

Many forumers live in Merchant's Row, although Danny, they aren't for sale yet.

Gambling_man,

I didn't wrote that all of you should leave Detroit because of this sudden $300 trash collection fee. I was writing to whoever he is that to check out the collection fees first before buying that place.

hmmm...with "thejesus" as your identity, it would seem that you should be providing answers, not asking questions.

I just checked them out with my fiance yesterday. They have a GREAT 1 bedroom unit that looks over woodward (i believe it's on the 2nd floor) with the 3 largest units in the entire complex that I would highly recommend checking out.

They seemed very reasonably priced for the location. I know we are considering LMR as an option.

That was on our list, and still is. I loved the views. I loved the location.

My fiance fell in love with Parkstone Apartments, at the corner of Agnes and Parker. It's 2 buildings from 1924 with original woodwork, skyline views, etc and it's going to be hard talking her into something else.

If it was 100% up to me, I would shell out a little extra $$$ and go with LMR.

The only complaint(s) I have with living at LMR are the walls are too thin and management can be a little frustrating at times, other than that its great,I've lived here for 14 months and I'll be resigning my lease at the end of the month.

I live a block away from the parkstone in IVA...they are nice! I'd love to welcome you as neighbors. Since you're young...I would recommend the LMR...more hip...walking distance to fun fun fun.

The tough thing is turning down a nice home at Parkstone and paying almost 2x as much at LMR. I would not be against it, but I think I'd rather wait a couple years until I would not be pushing it from a $$ standpoint.

I took alook at them when I was moving downtown. From what I remember they were extremely nice. There lofts had everything I was looking for. However, I did not like the 24 valet parking. Letting someone drive me car (even for a few feet) doesn't sit well with me at all. In the end, I ended up getting a studio at Lofts @ Woodward Center. Also, a firend just moved from Merchants Row recently. He had no complaints and really enjoyed living there.

Speaking of LWC, how do you like that Canuckr? I was going to check that out yesterday but their office was closed for some reason. Prices reasonable for what you get?

I used to live in woodward center lofts as well and I was paying 1194.00 per month for a 1010sqf space including the parking. It was ok I guess,no hardwood floors but they had stained cement, management was pretty cool, the place was well kept up and they always had good smelling air freshners in the hall way.

So I went and checked the place out...it seemed pretty cool...they did an excellent job with the restoration of the buildings, both inside and out...I could see myself living there

The one thing I didn't like was the parking situation in the elevator garage though...I don't like the idea of having to call down to someone to get my car and wait for them every morning and every time I feel like coming and going...

also, when I left the leasing office and the guy came down with my car, he sort of paused to see if I was going to tip him...I didn't since I didn't have any cash on me, but I couldn't imagine having to tip someone or being expected to tip them every time I want to use my car, which would be every day and probably more than once per day

Does anyone know if there is other affordable parking in the are? I know the underground garage is across the street, but it's $150 a month...is there anyting cheaper around?

So far I really like it there. I will second what Superduperman said about management and the hall way. My only complaint is I should have gotten a one bedroom.

You don't have to tip them everytime you get your car, since you're not a resident and you were only visiting I don't think waiting for a tip was uncalled for, alot of valets do that. Also you can have them pull your car at a certain time automatically so that you don't have to call.

Can anyone comment on the parking situation for downtown residents? Are there affordable alternatives to the valet parking at LMR? I don't mind walking a couple blocks everyday if I can have easy access to my car whenever I want.

I think I'm going to check out Lofts at Woodward Center soon. How is the parking situation there?

Heck, you've got bus stops across the street from you there as well as Capital Park a block away, why would you want to pull your car out several times a day?

Quinn, could you please stop offering to "meet people" and "welcome people" on this forum (or anywhere on the internet for that matter).

What happend to your previous (before the original suburban) claim of living in Woodbridge?
