OK, I'm starting law school at Wayne in a couple of days and I'll be living on campus so I'm wondering where are all the watering holes that a young law student like myself might dig when I'm not neck deep in law books? I've already gathered that the Circa 1890s Pub is kinda the law student hang out, but where else is there to go? Where are some cool places that I can take friends downtown?

Z's, is Alvin's still around?, the Bronx, DIA courtyard, and of course you have the Motor City brewery next to TJ&S.

When I was a student we would go to a bar on third street that was dark as could be. Leaving it between classes was very painful to the eyes. We would also make occasional trips down to Stroh Haus for FREE BEER AND FOOD! now ya can't get better than that as a student!

The Circa is really lame in my opinion. Definitely fits "watering hole" status though. I really like the Bronx (2nd and Prentis) and the Old Miami (Cass). A lot of Wayne Staters like Harry's (never been there) and of course, the Town Pump.

not to toot my own horn. But next weekend we're doing a pubcrawl of the area around Wayne. If you come along you'll probably get a very good idea of what is around.

^^ Yup hop on Sharmaal's [Detroit Synergy Group] tour and you will see the Cass Corridor classics. Plus you will meet some really positive and cool city folk like Sharmaal.

Sharmaal, if I don't have too much to do in the way of school work, I'd love to! Mind if I bring a friend?
