http://www.detnews.com/apps/pb cs.dll/article?AID=/20060822/S PORTS0104/608220410 The sad thing is that I would guess that most people who have bleacher seats are working class people who will struggle to afford playoff tickets, while the expensive seat people pay less of a rate hike, and can probably find a way to write it off as a business expense. Illitch should be ashamed of himself. |

Oh everyone is a complainer. This guy can easily sell his tickets for 3x what he is going to pay for them. I cant wait to hand over the cash because I know I can sell just a couple tickets out of the set and make all my money back for the rest of the post season package. Just like the All-Star game tickets. I had to be out of town so they were unloaded for $400 more than I payed for the set of 2. Go tigers and stop giving complaining people good trees. Perhaps I should complain about the amount of my life he wasted with the article and his little rant just to say he is still going to buy them. |

Wait, they want to charge more for playoff tickets than regular season tickets? I can't imagine there'd even be a demand for this Tigers team if they made the playoffs; nobody would pay such outrageous prices! Next thing you're going to tell me is that parking prices have gone up too. The team isn't a charity, it's a business, and they'll charge what people will pay...and people will pay. |

This guy wasn't expecting to pay $32 to see a world Series game if the Tigers make it that far was he? Supply and demand. I'd pay $175 a ticket for those seats to see a World Series game in a second, as would many Tigers fans. Plus as mentioned above he'll be able to sell some tickets if he wants and make a bundle. I've never watch a game from the those $8 seats, but those aren't bad seats at all. And for $8 that's a fantastic bargain for the regular season. There are no bargains in the WS. |

sure you can sell them later, but can you afford to drop several thousand $$$ up front to do so? i know i can't! $700+ for my two 21-game plan seats is what i've done for 3 years now. i expect all of you who say you'd pay this much more to send me a check so i can get tickets for us then. section 217, row B, right above the rail. ordinarily $20 seats, so I figure I'll need about $8000? |
