I have to say that I am really impressed by Jennifer and her knowledge of the Tigers, Detroit sports in general and her using the of opportunity to plug the city’s rebirth. She not only knew the players, who’s on a hot streak, slumps ect….. but their nicknames as well; wow. She blows Dick DeVos away and makes him look like a jacka$$. Tonight she is reversing the hex that Dick and his bumbling mess of an inning in the announcers’ booth created………..

absolutely... although i beat it to you in the Tigers Thread :-) She also said a lot of great things about the city, and demanded that all residents of michigan head downtown sometime!

and she got us 2 runs! yay Jenny! interestingly enough, the first ad after she left was a DeVos ad (which cleverly never mentions his name).

I hope she's using her time effectively to mingle with all the captive people at the jazz fest. She's got plenty of opportunity to campain this weekend. I've yet to see Devos step a foot in the city to campaign.

Here's to 4 more years of Jen. She inherited Big John's Deficite and has done the best she can. All this mind you with Republicans controlling both the house and the senate. Add a lousy economy because the big 3 are in a slump.

...because the Unions are killing the state and the SBT isn't helping either. But Granholm knew that already...

I'm a buge baseball fan, played all the way through high school. But since when does a knowledge of local sports make one a good political candidate?

Devos showed up in the Tiger broadcast booth a couple of weeks ago, but didn't do any street mingling. He mouthed some inanities and got the hell out of Detroit.

She got us 2 runs? Two bad she she doesn't have the same batting average when it comes to bringing Michigan jobs. Then maybe we wouldn't rank #50.

"Here's to 4 more years of Jen. She inherited Big John's Deficite and has done the best she can."

That's an old game, partisans blaming past administrations for the shortcomings of the candidate they support. I think that's called passing the buck.

Both of these candidates are a couple of clowns and I wish I had a viable third option. Unfortunately this state will be stuck with one of them for the next 4 years. This state will improve in spite of either of them and not beause of them.

The bloom most certainly has come off Granholm's rose. From talk 4 years ago about changing the constitution so she could run for president some day to being the governor of the state with the worst economy in the union with not much hope for improvemnt in the imediate future. Of course she does know the Tigers players nicknames so maybe this states future isn't that bad.

In most cases a politician in Granholm's situation wouldn't stand a chance of re-relection.
Basically what we have here is a clown-off. The lesser of the two clowns will win in November and we're all stuck with the consequences.

Who knows, in the end I may end up voting for Granholm because she may actually be the lesser of two evils. To say she has done the best she can these past 4 years though is a fucking joke. #50 people, meaning their are 49 other states in better economic shape than use. Best she could? A kindergartener could have led us to #50.

Tetsua, be honest, how hard were you really "looking"?

Oldred, did he "get the hell out of Detroit" just like you did?

Detroitej, Big John left Big Jen the same deficit that Big Jim left him.

Chitaku, does the same apply to Granholm's "plan" that she is just now unveiling after 3 and a half years?

i'd only vote in a clown-off if they had to throw cream pies at each other.

its hard to watch the tigers now... win lose win lose win win lose lose win win lose win lose.
