This looks to be a very promising thing for Wayne Co. The county is looking at a continuous trail along the Detroit River from the Det/GPP border to Brownstown. That would be a very cool thing:

Here's a related idea for a "blueway" of a kayaking/canoing "trail" along the Detroit River as well. This could really be a boon for the River and all the communities along it. It's about time Metro Detroit rediscovered the beautiful wildlife and scenery right down the street from them.

Yesterday I walked the new trail connecting downtown West Dearborn to the Fairlane Mansion. Very Nice, and it includes a pedestrian bridge over the Rouge.
