As some people might remember, I've been recreating buildings from Detroit for the computer game Sim City 4. One of those buildings is the Vinton Building.

I was wondering where the elevator and entrance to the basement garage is going.

I was also wondering what the base will look like when it's done. I haven't walked past the building in a few months, so I don't know how far it is, but if there are any plans, I'd appreciate knowing about them, so that I can make the building as realistic as possible.

Here's my progress so far. Please point out anything that's off, and I can fix it.

You really do great work jasoncw. The only thing I notice is the Vinton building now has lettering on the pediment that says "VINTON"

The garage door will be in the east wall of the building. It will open in the alley. The existing alley doors will remain. The garage door will be about 4 feet from the southeast corner of the building. The steel door on the east end of the congress face will be removed. The hole's been concrete blocked and a matching stone panel will be applied to cover the blocks.

That's not unlike DialH's morning beauty routine.

Thanks Ndavies, that's exactly what I was looking for.

The best reference picture for the alley area is one I found off the internet (it's a different Jason who took this picture) http://www.flickr.com/photos/j asonyoder/95352274/

Does anyone have any better reference photos of the alley area?

I've also done the Detroit Free Press Building. Still in progress are 211 West Fort, One Woodward Avenue, this one, and the Penobscot Building. I've shown all of them except for the Penobscot Building (http://img137.imageshack.us/im g137/1188/peno16nu5.jpg) in an older thread that I forgot the name of.

Here's an update.

Is this accurate so far? Keep in mind though, that in order to have space for the alley in SC, I had to cut off the building (the long side of the building has a few less windows), and this messed with the ground floor's windows a bit.

So how is it?
