No shocker there. We knew the building got bought by a church, and it's obvious a church isn't going to renovate it.
I'll ask around the office and see if anyone has heard anything.

Old time white neighborhood, populated by blacks. Skinny white hippies take over The Grande. Now bought by a black church...Ras and Danny should be proud to see this stopping any future "gentrifing" of this historic structure.

Any one see the interior pics posted on detroitfunk on October 4? Heartbreaking. We can only hope that any new construction on the site is a boost for a neighborhood so desperately in need of new life. Still makes me sad, not just for the loss of such a once beautiful structure, but also for my lost youth. Just one more link to the past going, going........
