really spectacular seeing the wave at Tiger Stadium again. That was a great place to watch a ball game. |

Definately cool. I like the $4 parking and the guy smoking at the game. How things change! |

Wow...it really was neat to see old Tiger Stadium rollickin' again. It was also equally odd seeing Boy George in the video as well. That was the good ol' days full of good memories. Let's hope this current crop of Tigers can do just as much as the '84 team and give us some other great memories as well. |

Those are nice memories, but can we leave the "Bless You Boys" slogan behind for this century ? WDIV and Bernie really need to put that one away. This ain't 1984. |

It's amazing how thin the players were before the days of conditioning and "performance-enhancers" yet they could still hit 450ft. blasts and throw the ball 95+ mph. I do miss the old tiger stadium though. On a side note it seems all the "no pepper games allowed" signs have disappeared from all the stadiums along with listing the wall distance in Meters underneath the feet. |

AL Ackerman started saying that in his famous sarcastic style. ALmost making fun of the Tigers and past futility. Does anybody have any clips of him saying it. |

Loved seeing the dancing grounds crew. That's something they ought to bring back. As far as the 80s hair, glasses & clothing that's the last thing... what's that, stirup pants, those ridiculously long sweaters and stuff are supposedly back in style? Oh boy. |

There was on guy who danced while he swept, he was kind of an institution. He was the only one, when he retired and the "BO" era began they hired a guy to danced and he was booted out of town. It has to come natural. |

Al Ackerman---a legend in his own mind. I believe you are right, knep. Al coined the phrase. He was a Channel 4 sports announcer. Might have started with Channel 7, but not for long. He also displayed his sarcasm when he promoted Michigan running back, Harlan Huckleby for the Heismann Trophy. I met him in court once and he was quite cordial. But don't get on his bad side.He could really be caustic. |

Ackerman started at 4, moved to 7 when that station was assembling their team of local all-stars ("Bonds, Kelly, Ackerman, Turner and Hodak"). Ackerman claimed the phrase was what his mother would say. |
